MRP Controller - 3 Months Temporary Contract!

Salary: £26K - £33K dependant on experience

Location: York, YO32

Hours: Monday-Friday, 36.25 hours weekly

Start: ASAP

The company we're recruiting for are looking for a Temporary Materials and Production Planner to join their team immediately for a period of 3 months. You'll be reporting to the Supply Chain Development Manager initially and training will be provided. As the MRP Controller you will provide lean, capacity managed production programmes in support of customer demand to deliver their requirements on time.

Within your role you will be responsible for:

• Ensure materials are available on time to deliver production plan, this includes leasing with suppliers to ensure following days delivery and providing them with a forecast based on S&OP reports.
• Liaise daily with the manufacturing team to eliminate bottlenecks and assembly issues and ensure that production schedules are understood, realistic and achieved; it includes monitoring and reporting the position of each manufacturing area against the schedule
• Take responsibility for the introduction of new and superseded materials to avoid materials shortages
• Identify slow moving, obsolete and surplus materials and recommend appropriate action to reduce inventory waste through stock turnover focus
• Participate in lean initiatives to reduce sub-assembly and end product lead times and scrap.

Skills/experience required for this position:

• Understanding of Production and Supply Chain methodology and strategy
• Solid understanding of Materials Resource Planning procedures, production planning and finite scheduling
• Data analysis and manipulation
• IT skills - Excel, ERP System - e.g. SAP
